NEWS RELEASE: State Activates Joint Information Center For Tropical Storm Lala

HONOLULU — The state of Hawai‘i has activated a Joint Information Center (JIC) in support of media operations regarding Tropical Storm Lala. 

The JIC will handle all media inquiries related to Tropical Storm Lala, which includes state-level inquiries and interview requests.

A dedicated phone number for the JIC has been established. The number is for media use only. Credentialed news media can contact the JIC.

The JIC enables the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency to bring together public information resources from Hawaiʻi state agencies and provides a single point of contact for media.

Members of the media are encouraged to use these coordinated contacts to ensure prompt attention to requests. 

The JIC will operate 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily until further notice.
