Check Six – 2017: Keith Tamashiro Retires

Brig. Gen. Keith Tamashiro retired on October 1, 2017 after 33 years of service. He joined the Hawaii Army National Guard after serving four years on active duty.

Three Hawaii State legislators attended his retirement ceremony. In the photograph (L-R): Marcus Oshiro, Michelle Kidani, Brig Gen Tamashiro, and Donovan Dela Cruz. State Representative Oshiro had just resigned after serving 23 years as a legislator. He was just appointed as the Chair of the Labor Relations Board. State Senators Kidani and Dela Cruz continue their service in the legisature.

Keith Tamashiro continues as a Supervisor in the First-To-Work Program, Department of Human Services, State of Hawaii. This position is responsible for managing the Honolulu office and the welfare program helping people gain employment and educational skills.
