The Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG) will be conducting it’s first large scale “Sentry Aloha” fighter exercise of 2018. It began on Wednesday, January 10 and Oahu residents, particularly along Oahu’s southern coast may see an increase in military aircraft.
Sentry Aloha is an ongoing series of exercises, hosted by the HIANG’s 154th Wing involving multiple types of aircraft and services. This iteration involves just over 900 personnel and nearly 40 aircraft from Hawaii and five other states. Participating units include:
- 15th Wing
- Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
- 144th Fighter Wing
- 507th Air Refueling Wing
- 185th Air Refueling Wing
- 513th Air Control Group
- Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska
