Taps: Henry Hitoshi Yamada

Henry Hitoshi Yamada, 84, of Honolulu, died at Straub Hospital on May 14, 2015. He established and was former President of Ziebart Auto Rust Proofing of Hawaii. He was a veteran of the Hawaii Army National Guard and retired instructor with State of Hawaii Department of Land & Natural Resources Hawaii Hunter Education Program.

During his military service he was a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard competitive Pistol and Rifle teams and won over 200 team and individual awards and medals for his marksmanship, including the Nation’s highest award for individual excellence in shooting, the gold Distinguished Marksmanship Badge.

Born in Honolulu, he graduated from Farrington High School in 1948.

He is survived by daughters and their spouses Jewelle and Glenn Emanuel of New York and Pamela and Daniel Baysa of California; granddaughter Jennifer Baysa; sisters Mabel Yawata and Yvonne Okamoto; and brothers Walter and Benjamin.
