Congratulations to Maj. Gen. Suzanne Vares-Lum retired on Friday, April 8, 2021. She had served as the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, United States Indo-Pacific Command (US Indo-PACOM).

Feedback on the 10-Digit Dialing (10DD) Transition Begins post. The post said beginning October 24, 2021, you must dial 10-digits (area code + telephone number) for all local calls.
Retiree News received several emails saying this was fake news and there is no change coming in October. The major mobile carriers AT&T, T-Mobile (Sprint) and Verizon all have articles on their websites about the upcoming transition. Additionally, Hawaii News Now and KHON2 News had news segments about the change.
Those with mobile phones will have to add area codes to the numbers in their contacts. Those with hand dial landlines will face challenges, dialing area codes for every call.
