Check Six: 154th Wing Gate Guard

Posted on May 9, 2020 in 1970's, Check Six

This undated photograph show the Convair F-102A Delta Dagger which the 199th Fighter Squadron flew from 1960-1976. The Hawai‘i Air National Guard retained aircraft 53-3366 and it became a static display roadside outside the gate to the Wing compound.

Cost for maintaining a static display is borne by the unit. The costs and labor associated with the Deuce rose over the years. Eventually, aircraft 3366 moved to the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on Ford Island. The Deuce was fully restored and remains on display today.
