Check Six – 2014: Michael Compton Receives Second Star

In an April 28, 2014 ceremony at the Hawai‘i State Capitol, Brigadier General Michael “Inch” Compton was promoted to major general. Earlier in January, he started his tour as the ANG Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces. Hickam Air Force Base, Hawai‘i. He was transitioning from his tour as the Strategic Planning and Policy Mobilization Assistant, United States Pacific Command, Camp Smith, Hawai‘i.

In the photograph above, General Compton is talking to three of his four bosses. From the left are: Major General Darryll Wong, the Adjutant General Hawai’i, General Herbert “Hawk” Carlisle, Commander, Pacific Air Forces, Mark Dunkerley, president and chief executive officer, Hawaiian Airlines. His fourth boss, Governor Neil Abercrombie arrived shortly after and the ceremony began.

Today, Compton continues as a Boeing 717 captain with Hawaiian Airlines.
