CMSgt Robert Lee Is Now With Southwest Airlines

Robert Lee III, the retired chief master sergeant who served as the Hawaii National Guard Senior Enlisted Leader, has started a new career. Rob is now Southwest Airlines‘ station manager at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Southwest hired him in September 2018.
As the station manager, he is responsible of Southwest operations in Honolulu. Initially, there will be 55 employees, moving toward 90 as they robust to full operations.
The photograph above commemorates the first Southwest aircraft landing in Honolulu on February 5, 2019. The flight was the first of several required Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) validation flights. In the photograph, Rob is kneeling, just above the employee laying on the tarmac.

After completing a series of validation flights, Southwest received approval on February 28, 2019 from the Federal Aviation Administration to begin Hawaii operations. Southwest will initially fly its 175-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft for Hawaii service.
An Associated Press article reported that Southwest will announce timing for selling tickets and beginning flights in the coming days. Southwest plans to launch flights to four Hawaii airports (Honolulu, Kahului, Lihue and Kona) from four in California (Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego and San Jose).
