Check Six – 2004: 154 MSG Leadership

This 2004 photograph shows the leadership of the 154th Mission Support Group – commander, then-Col Stanley “Ossum” Osserman and First Sergeant Howard Naone. They were attending the 154th Maintenance Group assumption of command ceremony, when Col Ronald Han became the commander.

From September 2008 to December 2009, Osserman was the Assistant Adjutant General-Air, Hawaii Air National Guard and promoted to brigadier general. He was dual hatted as the A-6, Assistant to the Director, Air National Guard, in Arlington, Virginia until January 2010.

His follow-on assignment was the Strategic Planning and Policy Mobilization Assistant, United States Pacific Command at Camp H.M. Smith. On April 2011 he became the Chief of Staff, Hawaii Air National Guard, and served until his retirement in 2014.

Today, he continues as the Director of the Hawaii Center for Advanced Transportation Technologies (HCATT). This State agency’s mission is to develop advanced low emission and zero emission vehicles centered on electric drive technologies.

A Traditional Guardmember, Naone served as the First Sergeant until he retired in 2010 with over 30 years of service. He continues with the Honolulu Fire Department where he also has served for over 30 years service. He currently is the Operation Battalion Chief at the department’s headquarters.
