United Chinese Society

United Chinese Society of Hawai‘i recently hosted a banquet at Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant to honor Michele Ching Choy as its 2017 Model Chinese Citizen of the Year, and to install its 2018 officers and trustees.

The society’s mission: To provide community service for the general health and welfare of the citizens of the State of Hawaii, and to promote friendly relations among the Chinese in Hawaii, the United States of American and abroad.

Kenneth Chong served as a Traditional Guardmember, assigned to Headquarters, Hawaii Air National Guard. In his early civilian career, Ken worked for Kaiser Development Company, known as Kacor; the company who oversaw the development and construction of Hawaii Kai. More recently, he owned Ken Chong Realty.

Kenneth’s brother, Cedric Chong served as a engineering officer in the HIANG for many years.
