Check Six – 2016: Three Adjutants General

During the 2016 Americans of Japanese Ancestry Tribute event, part of the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, three Adjutants General took time for a photograph. In the photograph left to right are MG Arthur “Joe” Logan, Maj. Gen. (Ret) Arthur U. Ishimoto, MG (Ret) Robert G.F. Lee.

General Logan continues to serve as the adjutant general, appointed by Governor David Ige in 2015.

General Ishimoto served as the adjutant general from January 1, 1982 to April 7, 1983. He is credited as the designer of the Hawaii Air Defense System.

General Lee was the adjutant general from January 1, 2003 through January 8, 2011. During his tenure, the Hawaii National Guard had major deployments down range with the associated challenges.
