Posted on Oct 20, 2017 in 1980's, Check Six

This photograph shows a young Harold Scoggins, who served as a Traditional Guardmember in the 293d Combat Communications Squadron. The photograph was undated, but the fatigue uniform places it in the late 80s. He is practicing his Morse Code technique transmitting over a HF radio. Harold later served as the squadron First Sergeant and retired in the early 2000’s.

In civilian life, Harold was an officer with the Honolulu Police Department, serving in many capacities. He was one of the original members of HPD’s bicycle unit. Harold retired from the force and currently is a supervisor in one of Hawaii’s major security companies.
