Retiree Update: Louie Kono

Thanks to recent retiree Doug Awana for emailing the photograph and comments to Retiree News.

Just FYI …. Ran into my very first supervisor in the HIANG (straight out of BMT & Tech School) SMSgt (ret) Louie Kono at HAFB commissary today. He’s 88 years young now. Although in a motorized shopping cart in this pic, he is still mobile on his own when not shopping.

He shared “My wife and I are trying to live an independent lifestyle and just take care of each other”. He looked incredible and still carries a great conversation very well.
