Thanksgiving is a uniquely American holiday when families gather and share a meal. More Americans travel on this extended weekend to get home because there is nothing like the Thanksgiving meal with family. Families all have their personal Thanksgiving traditions, down to who carves the turkey.
For many, Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday season. It is a wonderful time of the year, as a popular holiday song declares.
As you sit down to your Thanksgiving meal today, take a moment to remember our fellow service members who are deployed and not at home with their families. Remember them, along with all those who served before them.
