Check Six: Remembering Dennis

Remembering Dennis Dalen, a Hawai‘i Air National Guard member who died 24 years ago today during the Hurricane Iniki recovery mission.  Dennis was a member of the 297th Air Traffic Control Flight, as it was named in 1992.

He was 46 and died during the storm cleanup on Kauai’s North Shore when the truck he was driving flipped as he tried to avoid live power lines.

Dennis was buried the Hawai‘i State Cemetery in Kāne‘ohe.
