John Kau Sr., 87, of Waimanalo, a Hawaii Army National Guard heavy-equipment maintenance retiree and veteran, passed away on February 25, 2015 in Las Vegas. He was born in Honolulu.

He is survived by son John Jr.; daughters Mary Andrews, Kathleen Lopez, Pearl Powell and Edna L. Konanui; sister Harriet Gandal; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 9 a.m. March 21 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
