Taps: David Francis Meyer

David Francis Meyer, 97, of Hilo, formerly of Laupahoehoe, Hawaii, a retired truck driver for the former Hamakua Sugar Plantation and an Army private first class with the 1st Regiment, Hawaii Rifles, died in Pohai Malama Hospice of Hilo. He was born in Waipunalei, Hawaii.

He is survived by wife Lucy; son Lionel; daughters Elvira Publico and Karen Meyer; brother Herman; sisters Agnes Carvalho, Dorothy Lanza, Annie Lum and Mary Ann Meyer; four grandchildren; three hanai grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 8 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial: 11 a.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, ilima section. Casual attire.
