Taps: Toshi Watabayashi
Posted on Apr 7, 2015 in TapsRetiree News received the sad news that Toshi “Doc” Watabayashi, 84 passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Doc was a retired Hawai‘i Air National Guard in 1997. He was the senior medical technician in the medical unit for many years.
According to reports, Toshi was run over by a truck in the Kaimukī Center parking lot after visiting his dentist there. He was taken to Queens where he later passed.
According to family members, Doc requested no official funeral services in his will. The Kapahulu Senior Center had a private “remembrance” in Toshi’s honor last Thursday. Toshi used to teach mah jong at the Center.
