Joseph Coit Jr., 76, of Hilo, a retired Yamada & Sons Inc. diesel mechanic and a Hawai‘i Army National Guard retiree, passed away in Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility on March 6, 2015. He was born in Kohala, Hawai‘i.
He is survived by wife Clara; son Owen; daughters Brenda Jo Ioane, Deborah Moniz and Cindy Naihe; brother George; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5 p.m. Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Celebration of life: 6 p.m. Graveside committal services and burial: 9 a.m. March 19 at Hawai‘i Veterans Cemetery No. 2, Hilo. Casual attire.
