History of the 297th Engineer, Firefighter Detachment
The 297th Engineer Detachment Fire Fighting Team was organized on 1 April 1999. The 297th Firefighting Team is presently involved with the Hawaii CERF-P program which is designed to respond to natural or man-made mass casualty incidents and major disasters. 297th Firefighting Team is involved with medical and confined spaces extraction as Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosive (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package (CERF-P) Army National Guard. The 297th Firefighting Team is also involved with aircraft and ground vehicle crash, rescue and victim extrication.
