Dr. Aiu, a resident of Wailea Homesteads on Kauai, checked on one. of two medical response teams staffed by medical personnel from the Hawaii National Guard. The station, receiving 60 to 70 persons daily, staffed earlier by three combat medics, was beefed up with a psychiatrist (doctor) from Queen’s Medical Center, Capt. Michelle Moran, Capt. Judy Mullen a registered nurse, a stress management specialist, and more corpsmen to make a 13 person team. Dr. Aiu’s own home was demolished by Hurricane Iniki.
