Brigadier General Dennis A. Kamimura
Posted on Jan 21, 2025 in HING History, PeopleMajor General Dennis Kamimura assumed duties as the Commander, 29th Separate Infantry Brigade, Hawaii Army National Guard, on December 20, 1996. As the Brigade Commander, he is taking the Brigade to its first Joint Readiness Training Center experience in June 1999, at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
The General was commissioned a field artillery officer in 1969 through the ROTC program at Gonzaga University, followed by active military service in 1971 in the Republic of Vietnam as an aviation officer with the 3/17th Cavalry. Prior to becoming the Brigade commander, he served as Deputy Commander, HQ State Area Command, Hawaii Army National Guard, until December 1996.
