Question for the CSEL:

Why does G1 and HRO pick and choose when they want to implement policies without rescinding or publishing an updared version? For example, the opt in policy has not been rescinded but the RRB Supply position was filled using EPS?

We understand that the new policy that governs this decision is currently in draft form

Answer: 

The G1 and HRO does not pick and choose. The updated draft policy was verbally agreed to be used – pending a signature.

On 14-15 March 2024, the HRO hosted an AGR enlisted vacancy fill policy update working group. The participants ranged from the CSEL, HIARNG CSM, J/G staff senior enlisted, unit AOs, MSC S1s, and HRO.

The vast majority of the HIARNG enlisted AGR force called to adjust the priority of fill FROM lateral (opt-in) then EPS TO EPS then lateral (opt-in).

We, as a working group, decided on that change, obtained a verbal approval from the HRO, and began executing the change while waiting for a signed copy of the policy. Unfortunately, it has taken much longer than expected to get the updated policy signed. The HIARNG leadership is working with HRO to finalize the policy and publish it to the force.
