HAWAIʻI MARCH 2026 JOINT INFORMATION CENTER 

HONOLULU  ̶  The state of Hawai‘i has activated a Joint Information Center (JIC) in support of media operations regarding the Hawaiʻi Kona Low weather event. 

The JIC will handle all media inquiries related to the Kona Low weather event, which includes state-level inquiries and interview requests. 

A dedicated phone number for the JIC has been established. The number is for media use only. Credentialed news media can call the JIC. 

The JIC enables the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency to bring together public information resources from Hawaiʻi state agencies and provides a single point of contact for media inquiries. 

Members of the media are encouraged to use these coordinated contacts to ensure prompt attention to requests. The contact number and email are not to be shared with the public. 

The JIC will operate 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily until further notice.
