PANE MAI QUESTION: 1/15/25 “14.5% pay raise”
Posted on Jan 16, 2025 in Ask the TAG responsesQuestion for the TAG:
With the recent approval of a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted service members, how will this increase be implemented within the Hawaii National Guard, and what additional measures are being considered to further support the financial well-being of our lower enlisted personnel?
Answer
Yes, HING will implement the approved pay and allowance increases ICW DFAS when the rates become effective. For E1-E4, there is a 4.5% increase beginning in January and the remaining 10% beginning in April 2025.
Commanders and leaders should query their Soldiers once the January and April 2025 IDT Leave and Earnings Statements post to vigorously identify pay issues. Since these rates will likely not change through the end of Calendar Year 2025, Soldiers should pursue qualification requirements for advancement, educational benefits for high civilian wages, and explore full time opportunities within the force.
Be sure to monitor the HIARNG mailer for Job Fair flyers and other opportunities being announced within the organization.
