News Release

The Hawaii Army National Guard soldier killed in an aircraft accident in eastern Afghanistan on Friday, has been positively identified as Sgt. Drew M. Scobie, of Kailua. Sgt. Scobie was one of three Americans aboard the MC-12 surveillance aircraft that crashed. There were no survivors. Sgt. Scobie’s remains were flown to Dover AFB, Delaware, where positive identification was made. His remains are expected to arrive in Hawaii in the next several days. Funeral arrangements are pending.
