History of the 1950 Contingency Contracting Team
Posted on Jan 23, 2025 in HING History, UnitsThe 1950th Support Detachment (Contracting Team) was constituted on 1 September 2008 in the Hawaii Army National Guard as the 1950th Support Detachment in Pearl City, Hawaii. The Team was formed and participated in OEF from August 2013 to May 2014, with Team members being assigned to Contracting Centers at Bagram Airfield, Kabul, Kandahar, and Qatar.
1950 Contingency Contracting Team Chronological History
The 1950th Contingency Contract Team located at the Waiawa armory is the newest unit in the command with an effective date of Sept. 1, 2008. The unit is awaiting assigned personnel prior to receiving its Federal Recognition. Once operational, the unit will provide contract services in contingency operations throughout the world.

The contracting team is headquartered in Waiawa. Its mission is to mobilize and deploy to provide contracting support in a contingency environment to include contracting for supplies, services, and construction. On order, it provides National Guard Domestic Operations (NGDO) support.

103rd TC successfully deployed the 1950th Support Detachment in support of Operation Spartan Shield in Arifjan, Kuwait from October 2023 toJuly 2024.
