History of the 50th Quartermaster Detachment

The 50th Quartermaster Detachment (50th QM DET) unit activation ceremony at the Waiawa Armory in Pearl City on Feb. 3. 2024 to formally and publicly recognize the 50th QM DET as the newest unit of the Hawai‘i Army National Guard.

  • Tiger Balm 2024: Soldiers of the 50th QM DET participated in the Tiger Balm 2024 Exercise. Their mission, to prepare and provide daily meals for up to 400 Singapore Armed Forces and U.S. Forces. Over the course of the exercise, they prepared approximately 11,000 meals, successfully completing their mission and contributing to the overall success of the operation. The exercise was held at the Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash. on May 5 to 17.
  • Provide Field Feeding Team Operations: The 50th QM DET and provided hot meals to Soldiers of the 103rd TC on Sept. 24 and 25 at the Waiawa Armory in Pearl City to meet unit mission essential task list requirements.
  • The 50th QM DET established its field feeding program, focusing on meeting the unit mission essential
    task list requirements by prioritizing Field Feeding Team Operations and providing over 500 hot meals monthly to soldiers of the 103rd TC. In addition to meal provisions, the company conducted mission essential equipment training to enhance overall mission readiness.
