Answers

Joint Senior Enlisted Advisory Council:

I am working with the HIARNG CSM and HIANG CCM to see if we need yet another council. Instead of an official council, I was thinking more along the lines of senior NCO huddle. I envision meeting quarterly or bi-annually and various locations around the HING. Each time we meet, a different unit (and E9) would host. This would allow an opportunity to showcase a unit’s mission, and others to learn about what they do. I see the formal portion of the huddle with the CSEL providing updates from the National Guard Enlisted Advisory Council, and other important topics from NGB, TAG, etc. If you have any suggestions, please send them my way!

HIARNG Enlisted AGR management:

My involvement is driving policy updates and providing input to TAG’s decisions. The best decisions are made with collective input – which is why it is important to regularly have full-time manning meetings, AO huddles, CSMAC meetings, etc.

Lastly, yes. I will encourage our senior enlisted to maintain a proactive approach with regards to enlisted force structure, talent management, and career progression. The council of colonels will never make a decision that affects our enlisted population without consulting the CSMAC. If you feel there is lack of representation, please have a conversation with your CSM or SGM and voice your concern.
