POSITION:  Tools And Parts Attendant Supervisor, WS-6904-05

SALARY:  $35.20 to $41.05 per hour

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT:  Title 32 Permanent Position

SERVICE:  Excepted Service – Enlisted

LOCATION:  Army Aviation Support Facility No. 1, Hawaii Army National Guard, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii

CLOSING DATE:  12 August 2024

RECRUITMENT AREA:  Present Enlisted members (E-4 to E-6) within the Hawaii Army National Guard

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work.

  • Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations.
  • Assigns tasks to be performed.
  • Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies.
  • Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed.
  • Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
  • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: If your resume does not include a narrative description of how you meet the GENERAL, SPECIALIZED experiences, and OTHER requirements, you may lose consideration for this position. Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must have at least 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment that weighs up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, handles items that weigh up to 40 pounds. Weight handling equipment is available for assistance with heavier items.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is done inside and outside. May work in areas that are hot, cold, damp, or poorly lighted. May work in inclement weather. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to an appropriate military position and must meet the definition of a dual status technician in accordance with 32 U S C 709.

NOTES TO CANDIDATES:

a. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor.

b. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard.

c. In addition to your application, documents of last performance appraisal, past civilian performance, letter of recommendations, and or military performance may be submitted.

d. Candidates may be screened and evaluated on military attributes directly related to the compatible military position required to be assigned into, such as, but not limited to, military bearing, leadership, or ability to work with others (teamwork) in a military environment.

h.
