2022 Antiterrorism Awareness Month

2022 Antiterrorism Awareness Month

August is an Army-wide Antiterrorism Awareness Month. This comes at a time when our nation continues to grapple with active shooting incidents in our communities, claiming innocent lives, destroying properties, and leaving us shaken and vulnerable.

This August, we will focus on how to respond to threats coming from terrorists, domestic extremists, and active shooters. We will also focus on how violent extremists use the social media, how to report suspicious activities, and measures to prevent and/or preempt such attacks from occurring.

Understanding and maintaining awareness of the threat environment will help our soldiers, civilian employees, family members, and our community in becoming less vulnerable to terrorist threats. It will also help us to be better prepared to respond in case of such an attack.

It is everybody’s responsibility to help protect our communities. So don’t be a passive bystander. If you see something, say something!
