Over the past seventy years 222 lives have been lost on Hawaii shores from powerful tsunamis generated by destructive earthquakes. When a  tsunami is imminent, evacuation needs to occur quickly and efficiently. Kailua….and eventually other coastal communities will be getting tsunami evacuation signs that will direct residents and tourists to safe areas should evacuation be necessary.
