  1. STEP 1: Complete Mentor Application

    You will be contacted for a telephone interview

  2. STEP 2: Schedule your required Mentor Training

    Oahu

    • Saturday, TBD 2026 10am-3pm

    • Sunday, TBD 2026 10am-3pm

    Outer-Island Mentors, we will come to you! Date and time TBD

    Background check and fingerprinting is required prior to your scheduled Mentor Training

    We will contact you to schedule this appointment.

  3. STEP 3: Attend your scheduled Mentor Training

    Mentor training will consist of:

    • Discussing the duties and responsibilities of being a mentor

    • Complete additional paperwork

    • Mentor & Mentee Match-up Ceremony

    • Lunch with your Mentee

    Directions to YCA Mentor Training

PHASE 1: Residential

  • Contact your Mentee once a week
    • Attend On-Site Mentor Visits
    • Talk on the phone with your Mentee during allotted times
  • Write Letters to your Mentee
  • Attend Post Residential Brief
  • Attend their Graduation
