This photograph show four old friends from fighter maintenance. Left to right are Clifford Ono, Kyle Kamikawa, Franklin Ho, and Raymond Sato. Asked about the date of the photograph, Cliff Ono said, “It would have to be before 1986 because we still have the F-4 AFCS (advanced flight control system) bench.”
Cliff served in the Marine Corps before enlisting in the Hawaii Air National Guard. He served as a technician and retired as a chief master sergeant after a long career.
Kyle served his entire career in the Air Guard and retired a master sergeant. He later worked on the maintenance team for the Pearlridge Mall monorail system. This team included other retired HIANG members. He is now enjoying his retirements.
Franklin served in the fighter area and later moved to the heavies. He retired as a senior master sergeant.
Raymond was among many Hawaii Army National Guard technicians that transferred to the HIANG in the late 1960s after the Nike Hercules mission ended. He served in the avionics area for the rest of his career and retired as a master sergeant.
Thanks to Cliff and Kyle for providing the information for this photograph.
