2017 Memorial Day Ceremonies

Posted on Aug 24, 2017 in Memorial Day

Annually, the Hawaii Army National Guard honors those who were killed during the 1968 29th Infantry Brigade call-up and the Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom mobilization. There are two large pohaku (rocks) in front of the Readiness Center Building on Kalaeloa campus. Each pohaku has a plaque listing members who passed during those mobilizations.

Following the pohaku ceremony, there were tour of the facility for the retirees and guests.

Later, there was a lunch to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. This event is part of a nationwide program of events dealing with the Vietnam War.
