Posted on Aug 2, 2018 in 1980's, Check Six

This 1980s era photograph shows Lt Col Norman Ault, MSgt Howard Hironaka, and MSgt Gordon Martin on the fighter flightline.

Lt Col Ault served as the commander of the then-154th Consolidated Maintenance Squadron for many years. He was a aircraft mechanic who rose to the rank of master sergeant and was later commissioned. He was the heart and soul of maintenance. He retired in 1988.

Howard ran the life support shop for several years. His son, Guy, was a second generation Guardmember who recently retired.

Gordon was a leader on the flightline during the F-102 Delta Dagger and F-C Phantom eras. He retired early because of medical challenges and passed on a few years later.
