Last week, Hawaiʻi came together at the State Veterans Cemetery in Kāneʻohe to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s fallen heroes during the Governor’s Memorial Day Ceremony.
Hosted under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Office of Veterans’ Services, this year’s ceremony carried the theme, “Mālama i ko lākou hoʻoilina — Preserve Their Legacy.” The event featured remarks from Gov. Josh Green and Maj. Gen. Stephen F. Logan, musical performances by the 111th Army Band, wreath presentations and a rifle salute by the Hawaiʻi National Guard Honor Guard.
Veterans, service members, families, community leaders and military partners gathered in remembrance and gratitude to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🌺
