Hawaii Air National Guard photograph

This photograph was taken in the mid-1960s. It shows some the then-154th Fighter Interceptor Group’s F-102 Delta Daggers parked on the flightline. The 154 FIG received the Deuces in 1960 and flew them until 1976.

The aircraft makings had changed from the original “Hawaii Air Guard” to what you see in the photograph. Eventually the “FC” markings were removed leaving “U.S. Air Force”. The aircraft’s tail flash shows the old round Air National Guard shield.

In the background, you can see the the earthen berm was already in place. The berm was removed several decades later to allow for the ramp expansion.
