On December 15, I had the honor of participating in a rare double-pinning ceremony for the Hawaii Army National Guard – including pinning of the first woman of native Hawaiian ancestry to become a general in the Hawai‘i Army National Guard. Congratulations General Brigadier General Suzanne Vares-Lum, Deputy J-5, and Brigadier General Kenneth Hara, Deputy Adjutant.
