Check Six -1960s: Dillingham Field Operations

In the 1960s, the 154th Fighter Group flew out Dillingham Field, testing bare base operations plans. This photograph shows a 199th Fighter Squadron pilot in the make shift “control tower”. A Convair F-102 Delta Dagger is taking off. Operations were limited to daylight hours. Note the pilot’s orange flight suit.
