Check Six: 22nd Avenue Armory – 55+ years ago

Posted on Aug 13, 2018 in 1960's, Check Six

The photograph above shows the 22nd Avenue facility just before it’s official opening in the early 1960s. It was the home of many Hawaii Army National Guard units including the 29th Infantry Brigade.

After the migration of HIARNG units to Kalaeloa in the early 2000s, the facility was turned over to the Department of Education.
