Training

All personnel who perform tasks that can cause significant environmental impacts will be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, and/or experience. Personnel in non-environmental managerial functions will receive appropriate technical and/or awareness training.

All organizations will identify training needs (including legally mandated training), document training taken, and evaluate effectiveness. Supervisors are responsible to ensure their employees are properly trained.

The U.S. Army Engineer School (USAES) is responsible for developing and integrating environmental considerations into personnel training. All organizations will ensure applicable personnel at all levels conform to a single installation-wide environmental management system (eMS).
