Dr. Allan Shinya Takase, 94, of Hilo died May 6 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired medical doctor, retired Hawaii Army National Guard colonel and member of the American Medical Association, Hawaii County Medical Society, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Big Island National Guard Retirees.

Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Online condolences: dodomortuary.com. Survived by wife, Jean Takase of Hilo; children, Gerald (Barbara) Takase of Hilo, Lori (David “DJ”) Takase-Dung and Cathy Takase of Honolulu, Glenn Takase of Hilo; sister, Anne Dick of California; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins.
