Joseph Alexander Riveira Sr., 71, of Hilo, died in Hilo on April 13, 2026. He was born on Oʻahu on December 14, 1954.

He honorably served in the Air National Guard and earned Rifle M16 Expert and Hand Grenade Sharpshooter qualifications. He was also a member of the Hilo Boxing Club, earning the title of Hilo’s Golden Gloves boxer.

He is survived by his sisters, Gwendolyn (Billy) Amaral and Conchita Riveira; brother, Ralph Riveira; daughters, Jorina (Glen Lefiti Jr.) Riveira, Kiana King and Joelene Riveira; sons, Joseph (Nicole Hose Morton) Riveira Jr., David King Jr. and Delfin Riveira; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
