Neki Kauhi Jr., 80, of Hilo died July 1 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired meat department manager for KTA Super Stores-Downtown and a U.S. Army Vietnam War and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran.
Survived by daughter, Uilani Costa of Hilo; sons, Grant (Anne) Kauhi and Jason (Lynelle) Kauhi of Hilo, Brandon Kauhi of Kona; sisters, Helen Henderson of Hilo, Rossina Kauhi of Kona, Lei Kapahu of Oahu, Eva (Stan) Yamabe of Hilo, Janice (Anthony) Maldonado of Hilo, Lorene (James) Hough of Hilo, Evonne Kaloi of Hilo, Harriet Kuulei (Mike) Wilton of Utah, Miriam (Ken) St. Louis of Washington; sisters-in-law, Gale (Sam) Lee Loy of Oahu, Caron (Clyde) Tachibana of Hilo; brother-in-law, Bradford Camara of Oahu; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
