Taps: Donald Wo Kan Ching

Donald Wo Kan Ching, 88, of Aiea, a retired Machinist Foreman for Hawaiian Electric passed away on May 31, 2017. Donald was born on September 25, 1928 on Maui in Happy Valley, Wailuku. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1946. He married Helen Rego on December 23, 1949 in Honolulu. Prior to working for HECO, he was a 1st Class Machinist for Hawaiian Dredging and was also in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Ching Clan and See Dai Doo Societies.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ching Hing and Louisa Ah Fook Kong Ching; brothers Edward Ching, Edward Hee and Ah Sheong Dang; sisters Irene Len, Winifred Mahi, Kam Brenno, Dora Gruber; and son Wayne.

He is survived by wife, Helen; sister Muriel DeLawder; son Wayde (Shinderpal); daughter Valerie Pursel (David); grand-children (Kalani Kane, Leah Kane Mariani (Thomas), Galaya Ching, Nicolas Ching, and Navraj Ching); great grandson (Jake Mariani); beloved niece Carolyn Ancheta (Ronald); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 22 at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Aiea. Visitation begins at 10:00 am with mass at 11:00 am. Casual Attire. Arrangements Provided By: Ultimate Cremation Services LLC.
