TAPS: Herbert Honjo

Herbert H. Honjo, of Lihu’e, passed away on Aug. 17, 2026, at his home at age 84. Born on Oct. 28, 1941, in Wailua. He was a retired SMSGT with the Hawaii Air National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Fay M. Honjo.

He is survived by his daughters Tammie (Russell) Uyeda of Honolulu, Mitzi (Wade) Yamamoto of Koloa, Paige (Cleve) Javier of Lihu’e, grandchildren Tobi (Chris) Yoshida, Courtney Uyeda, Tirah (Darin) Kamealoha, Lyndsey Uyeda, Sydney Uyeda, Drake Javier, Grace Javier, great-grandsons Reegan Sibolboro, Duke Kamealoha, sisters Amy Umakoshi, Harriet Morioka, sisters-in-law Linda Momohara, Janice Momohara, brother-in-law Anthony Jim, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special thanks to the staff at Kauai Hospice – Dr. Monty Downs, Sequoia Dahlberg and Dr. Vishal Goyal.

Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
