Edward Ah Kong Lee, 83, of Hilo died Aug. 4 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Hawaii Fire Department firefighter, retired Hawaii Army National Guard major, U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and member of University Heights Kumiai.

Burial at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. 

Survived by wife, Lucia Rutab Lee of Hilo; son, Milton A.C. (Lyann) Lee of Honolulu; daughter, Kathleen Y.L. (John) Kim of Las Vegas; brother, Wendell Lee of Hilo; sisters, Nora Kam and Linda Lee of Los Angeles; five grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
