William “Uncle Bill” K. Kahele, 73, of Hilo died June 28 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo and raised in in Milolii, he was employed by Loomis Security, worked as nightclub securiy and was a Hawaii Army National Guard veteran.

Visitation Saturday, Aug. 22, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service Casual attire; flowers welcome. 

Survived by wife, Ruth Kahele of Hilo; sons, William Kahele of Hilo, Derwin (Leonell) Kahele of Pahoa and Nicalos Kahele of Hilo; daughter-in-law, Clarice Kahele of Hilo; sisters, Germaine Kila of Oahu, Harollyn Kahe’e of Hilo; brother, Jordan Kahele of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Paulette Iopa of Hilo, Susan Lebehn, Maggie (Edward) Martinez and Rachel Kaholoa’a of Kona, Elizabeth Polido, Gay Polido, Marilyn Polido and Lorna (Raymond) Kalili of Pahala; brothers-in-law, Solomon Polido of Hilo, Ken (Jo Ann) Polido of Kurtistown, Edward (Sandra) Polido and Ricky (Erika) Polido of Pahala; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
