TAPS: Susumu Sugata

Susumu Sugata, 96, of Waimea died Dec. 14 at Honokaa Hospital. Born in North Kohala, he worked for the former Kohala Sugar Co. and Kohala Nursery, was a volunteer North Kohaloa firefighter and retired Hawaii Army National Guard veteran.

Visitation 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Keokea Beach Park Pavilion in North Kohala. Celebration of life 11:30 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Casual attire. 

Survived by wife, Adeline Pasco Sugata of Waimea; daughter, Glenda (Rykart Solay) Hidaro of Waimea; son, Garrett (Bobbie) Sugata of North Kohala; son-in-law, Roger Wuestefeld; brothers-in-law, Harry Pasco and Lawrence (Patsy) Pasco of North Kohala; sisters-in-law, Anna Sugata of Hilo, Trini Pasco, Lucy Pasco and Shirley Pasco of North Kohala; 16 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
